Pachamirtham / Fruit Mash

Happiness is harvesting your own banana and make Panchamirtham out of it. Sharing our good old recipe made with home grown organic Karpooravalli Bananas. This is a Neivedhyam recipe in almost all temples of South India especially in Lord Murugan Temples. I have that evergreen memories of visiting the Big Temple of our small town Orathanad (Pattukkottai District) where I spent most of my childhood, with my mom on Fridays for Rahukala Durga Pooja. The chief priest (Ramani Gurukal) of that temple makes yummy pachamirtham for abhishekam and to distribute it for neivedhyam. He used to add almost all fruits into it like grapes, apple, pineapple, pomegranate along with sweet bananas, raisins, nuts and dates. Pachamirtham abhishekam is always done after Nei (Ghee) abhishekam, so the pachamirtham will have that divine taste of ghee and in fact Pachai Karpooram too, Nostalgic!!!

Tried making Pachamirtham at home with the sweet bananas that we harvested. Nothing can beat this yummy and healthy dessert.
