Kudampuli Thogayal

Back after a short trip to Kerala which is hubby’s hometown with lot of organic goodies ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š
Here I am with a native, medicinal and postpartum recipe as told by my MIL using home grown Kudampuli/Malabar Tamarind ๐Ÿ’š
Luckily I could get some fruits to be clicked on our tree in backyard and I brought back processed ones for this year use.
Kudampuli botanically called Garcinia cambogia is highly medicinal and is known for its effectiveness in weight loss and in treating stomach related ailments. My MIL mentioned they make this recipe for the mother after delivery as a part of postpartum diet. Normally the chilies and coconut are smeared with coconut oil and smoked to make this. I have pan fried it for lack of wooden furnace.

This is an excellent combo with steamed rice and coconut oil, or our regular sambar, Rasam or curd rice ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š here the specialty being the Chillies are from farm directly and coconut from home garden ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š
