Karivepaku Kaaram – Andhra Special Spicy Powder

Hi all đŸ™‚ Happy to be here with a spicy Andhra Special podi using home grown, healthy Curry Leaves – Karivepaku Kaaram / Spicy Curry Leaves Powder. This was a long pending recipe in my list to share here. Wanted to use the abundance of fresh curry leaves from home garden and ended up doing this. It takes just a day or two to shade dry the curry leaves to crisp (you can also dry roast them but will take some time and fuel wastage). This can be used as an accompaniment for Idly, Dosa and also can be used to make Podi based curries. Or just add this to sautĂ©ed onion, tomato to make spicy chutney. This is a multipurpose podi. I made snake gourd seeds chutney using this podi and it tasted awesome. Do use this as per your creativity.

Curry leaves are of course a treasure-house of essential nutrients and the health benefits are innumerable. It is rich in Vitamin A, B, C and E, and minerals like Iron, Calcium and Phosphorous.
