Hello dear friends π After seeing so many posts on FB on this Vettu Cake / Tea Kadai Kajada, I thought of making this for tea time snack this evening. It has been years since I have tasted this at home, as after grandma we have almost forgotten all these good old snacks. As I had mentioned in my earlier posts, my grandma was running a small homemade sweets shop during her early days and she used to share all those stories. Vennai Puttu, Thambala Paniyaram, Vettu Cake are some of the things which we stopped doing after her.
This Vettu Cake you can see almost in every other tea shop in southern parts of Tamilnadu (me being born and brought up in those areas) and also called as Aatu Kaal Cake (as it resembles the hoofs of the goat). We also make the version with eggs but I am sharing the eggless version here. In tea shops, they do add Sooji as well, which I have avoided.
