For this week I am sharing a very tasty and healthy Dhall recipe which is a popular in Andhra cuisine using farm-fresh Gongura Leaves / Sorrel Leaves/ Roselle Leaves – Gongura Pappu. I personally like Andhra Meals a lot and the Paruppu Podi, Gongura Pappu, Gongura pickle are my most favorites.
Gongura leaves are an excellent source of folate and great source of vitamin B6, which are needed to maintain low homocysteine levels. It is also rich in minerals like calcium, magnesium and phosphorus in abundance, all of which are important for maintaining strong and healthy bones.
I get fresh Gongura from farm and make this Dhall twice a month at least. It is an easy to make recipe and tastes absolutely heaven with hot steamed rice.
