Dates Almonds Smoothie

For the past few months I have been pursuing Ayurveda as a lifestyle and started not only learning the principles professionally but also implementing my learnings in my day to day routine which is more specific to my own family’s body type (Prakruti).

I have decided to document some simple Ayurvedic recipes and home remedies that I learn due course which can be taken by all the body types (Vata, Pita, Kapha and combination types). One such recipe adapted from Ayurvedic Cooking by Dr. Vasant Lad a renowned Ayurvedic Physician Practitioner is this Dates Almond Smoothie. This recipe is known to increase the vitality and boost our immune system (Ojas in Ayurvedic terms).

This can be taken as a breakfast smoothie and you can also add Cinnamon powder to this recipe. Medjool dates are preferrable which has a chewy and caramel taste, referred to as the ‘fruit of kings’. Watch out for more healthy, Ayurvedic and Whole Plant based food recipes lining up.
